Grooming a French Mastiff Puppy through the extended rainy season in Wokha

Let the weather set the grooming schedule, not the calendar. Near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, which means coat and skin want checking more often through the extended rainy season. On a smaller coat, skin irritation shows up well before matting does. Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

Exercise and daily routine in Wokha

Outdoor time is easy to come by in Wokha, which suits an active dog. What a medium-sized French Mastiff Puppy really wants is predictability — the same walk times each day, kept to the cooler hours through the extended rainy season. Several brief outings suit this size better than a single long session.

Is a French Mastiff Puppy a good fit for Wokha?

Two things decide this, and neither is the breed itself: what the housing looks like and what the weather does. Most homes in Wokha come with their own ground, so a medium-sized breed is comfortable in the space a town home usually offers. And since near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, the daily routine ends up mattering more than the floor space. Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

Vet care and seasonal health in Wokha

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. With near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the full textbook list. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the extended rainy season rather than during it. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Common mistakes to avoid

The frequent errors are choosing on appearance rather than temperament, underestimating exercise needs, and changing diet too quickly. In Wokha specifically, the other one is ignoring the season — Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

Feeding and daily routine

Set meal times and stick to them; free-feeding makes it hard to notice when a pet goes off its food. Change diet slowly and only after the pet has settled. Wokha's climate means near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, so hydration deserves attention. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Preparing the home in Wokha

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a pet room to move and settle in comfortably. Before the pet arrives, set aside a quiet corner away from through-traffic, sort out bedding, bowls and a carrier, and agree who is responsible for feeding and walks. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Which kind of pet suits Wokha

Start with the species, not the breed. Wokha's monsoon-heavy climate means near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, which shapes how practical a dog's exercise routine is here. Cats and small birds are less weather-dependent and often the easier first pet. Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

Why more families in the North-East are choosing pets

The first week

Settling in takes a few days. Reduced appetite and extra sleeping are normal. Keep the diet unchanged at first, keep introductions calm and gradual, and follow the vaccination schedule supplied with the pet. We remain available through the settling-in period.
