Vet care and seasonal health in Kohima Sadar

Most avoidable trouble for a Shih Tzu in Kohima Sadar traces back to the weather. Given rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, routine parasite prevention and seasonal skin checks do more good than simply booking more general check-ups. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.

Is a Shih Tzu a good fit for Kohima Sadar?

Two things decide this, and neither is the breed itself: what the housing looks like and what the weather does. Most homes in Kohima Sadar come with their own ground, so a small breed is comfortable in the space a town home usually offers. And since rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, the daily routine ends up mattering more than the floor space. Towel-dry after every walk in the rains and check between the toes for irritation.

Shih Tzu and Kohima Sadar's climate

Kohima Sadar's high-rainfall tropical conditions mean rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential. The practical rule that follows is simple: steady hydration and shade, rather than cutting activity back. Most of the advice written for the whole country misses this. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.

Exercise and daily routine in Kohima Sadar

Outdoor time is easy to come by in Kohima Sadar, which suits an active dog. What a small Shih Tzu really wants is predictability — the same walk times each day, kept to the cooler hours through the extended rainy season. Several brief outings suit this size better than a single long session.

Health, vaccination and the guarantee

Pets leave us vaccinated, dewormed and health-checked, with documentation included and a 7-day health guarantee from the day of delivery. Continuing the vaccination schedule matters, particularly given the high-rainfall tropical conditions in Kohima Sadar. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.

The first week

Settling in takes a few days. Reduced appetite and extra sleeping are normal. Keep the diet unchanged at first, keep introductions calm and gradual, and follow the vaccination schedule supplied with the pet. We remain available through the settling-in period.

Why more families in the region's hills are choosing pets

Interest in pet ownership in the region's hills is rising as more families adopt pets. Smaller households, more time spent at home and better access to veterinary care have all contributed. In Kohima Sadar specifically, more generous plot sizes widen the range of workable breeds.

Costs beyond the purchase

Think in terms of years rather than the purchase. Vaccinations, food, grooming and vet care continue for the life of the pet. In Kohima Sadar, locate your nearest vet in advance so an urgent visit is not a scramble.

Common mistakes to avoid

The frequent errors are choosing on appearance rather than temperament, underestimating exercise needs, and changing diet too quickly. In Kohima Sadar specifically, the other one is ignoring the season — Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

Preparing the home in Kohima Sadar

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a pet room to move and settle in comfortably. Get the basics in place first — a defined resting area, bowls, a carrier and a plan for who handles the daily routine. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.

Feeding and daily routine

Feed at fixed times rather than leaving food out, and keep whatever diet the pet arrived on for the first fortnight before changing anything. In Kohima Sadar's high-rainfall tropical conditions, water matters as much as food — check the bowl more than once a day. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.
