Exercise and daily routine in Sangau

Build the day around Sangau's conditions rather than a number from a breed chart. The extended rainy season needs the most thought, because rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential. A smaller breed does better with several short ones. On difficult days, the space at home covers most of it.

Shih Tzu and Sangau's climate

Weather shapes a Shih Tzu's day here more than any breed guide will tell you. With rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, a breed this size manages fine, as long as shade and water are never far. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.

Is a Shih Tzu a good fit for Sangau?

Look past the breed guide for a moment. Sangau is monsoon-heavy, rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, and homes tend to have their own plot. Put those together and a small breed is comfortable in the space a town home usually offers. That combination, not the breed standard, is what owners here actually live with. Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

Grooming a Shih Tzu through the extended rainy season in Sangau

Let the weather set the grooming schedule, not the calendar. Rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, which means coat and skin want checking more often through the extended rainy season. On a smaller coat, skin irritation shows up well before matting does. Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

Health, vaccination and the guarantee

Pets leave us vaccinated, dewormed and health-checked, with documentation included and a 7-day health guarantee from the day of delivery. Continuing the vaccination schedule matters, particularly given the monsoon-heavy conditions in Sangau. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, keep the same food initially, and let the pet approach people in its own time rather than being passed around. The vaccination record travels with the pet and we are contactable if you have questions.

Which kind of pet suits Sangau

Start with the species, not the breed. Sangau's monsoon-heavy climate means rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, which shapes how practical a dog's exercise routine is here. Cats and small birds are less weather-dependent and often the easier first pet. Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

Costs beyond the purchase

Think in terms of years rather than the purchase. Vaccinations, food, grooming and vet care continue for the life of the pet. In Sangau, locate your nearest vet in advance so an urgent visit is not a scramble.

Feeding and daily routine

Feed at fixed times rather than leaving food out, and keep whatever diet the pet arrived on for the first fortnight before changing anything. In Sangau's monsoon-heavy conditions, water matters as much as food — check the bowl more than once a day. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.

Preparing the home in Sangau

Larger plots and open surroundings make this a comfortable setting for an active pet. Before the pet arrives, set aside a quiet corner away from through-traffic, sort out bedding, bowls and a carrier, and agree who is responsible for feeding and walks. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.
