Exercise and routine through the peak summer and winter swings in Makdi

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Makdi, the climate swings from hot summers to cool winters, so care changes with the season, which makes timing the variable that matters. Several brief outings suit this size better than one long one. Shift walks to early morning and late evening through the peak summer weeks.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Grooming and coat care in Makdi

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With the climate swings from hot summers to cool winters, so care changes with the season, a Pug Puppy's coat and skin want checking more often through the peak summer and winter swings. On a smaller coat, irritation shows up well before matting does. Watch for seasonal coat shedding as temperatures change and brush accordingly.

Space and the outdoors with a Pug Puppy

Space is rarely the constraint here; the routine is what needs attention. For a family friendly, good with kids dog the fit is usually good either way.

Feeding a small dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a small frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because the climate swings from hot summers to cool winters, so care changes with the season, keep water available and watch intake through the peak summer and winter swings.

Makdi is hottest in May, averaging 40°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Pug needs real protection from that because its short muzzle makes panting less effective at shedding heat: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 11°C. A Pug has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Pug puppy, the easiest months to arrive are February, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
