Feeding a medium dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a medium frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, keep water available and watch intake through the long monsoon.

Health and vet care in Chengannur

Preventive care in Chengannur is largely a matter of anticipating the long monsoon. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the puppy; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. Stay current on tick and flea prevention, which thrive in warm, damp conditions.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Is the Cane Corso Puppy right for Chengannur?

Chengannur is humid coastal — moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips — and the Cane Corso Puppy is a medium-sized, family friendly, good with kids breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size copes well, provided shade and water are always within reach. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

Summer here peaks in March at about 36°C. That is manageable for a Cane Corso, but watch it closely because a large body sheds heat slowly: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 21°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.

The rainy season runs from May to November, and June is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Cane Corso puppy, the easiest months to arrive are December to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
