Exercise and routine through the extended rainy season in Kasom Khullen

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. Several brief outings suit this size better than one long one. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Is the Shih Tzu right for Kasom Khullen?

Kasom Khullen is high-rainfall tropical — near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention — and the Shih Tzu is a small-sized, playful, loyal, affectionate breed. Towel-dry after every walk in the rains and check between the toes for irritation.
