The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most kittens eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Exercise and routine through the long monsoon in Narayanavanam

The long monsoon is the stretch that needs planning. Moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, so keep sessions short and frequent. Consistency does more for a Himalayan Kittens than intensity ever will. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Health and vet care in Narayanavanam

Preventive care in Narayanavanam is largely a matter of anticipating the long monsoon. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the kitten; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Space and the outdoors with a Himalayan Kittens

Homes around Narayanavanam usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A medium-sized breed manages this well when the outdoor time is genuinely regular.

Grooming and coat care in Narayanavanam

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Narayanavanam being humid coastal, moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Stay current on tick and flea prevention, which thrive in warm, damp conditions.

Narayanavanam is hottest in April, averaging 39°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Himalayan needs real protection from that because its short muzzle makes panting less effective at shedding heat and its double coat holds heat close to the body: a cool room with the curtains drawn in the afternoon, a tiled floor to lie on, and fresh water in more than one place.

Winters are mild, with January nights around 17°C, so cold is not a concern.

The rainy season runs from October to November, and October is usually the wettest month. Dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.

For a new Himalayan kitten, the easiest months to arrive are December to January: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
