Grooming and coat care in Rolla

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Rolla being coastal tropical, the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Space and the outdoors with a Greyhound Puppy

Homes around Rolla usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A breed this size needs that outdoor time to be dependable, not occasional.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Feeding a large dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a large build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In coastal tropical conditions water matters as much as food — the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Living with a Greyhound Puppy in Rolla

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a Greyhound Puppy room to move and settle in comfortably. Owners throughout peninsular India tend to find this dog a gentle, quiet, fast companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Summer here peaks in April at about 37°C. That is manageable for a Greyhound, but watch it closely because a large body sheds heat slowly: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are mild, with January nights around 14°C, so cold is not a concern.

There is no long rainy season; what rain there is falls mostly in September.

For a new Greyhound puppy, the easiest months to arrive are January, February, May, June, July, August, October, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
