The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Exercise and routine through the long monsoon in Salur

The long monsoon is the stretch that needs planning. The sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, so keep sessions short and frequent. Consistency does more for a Doodle Puppy than intensity ever will. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Feeding a medium dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a medium frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, keep water available and watch intake through the long monsoon.

Space and the outdoors with a Doodle Puppy

Space is rarely the constraint here; the routine is what needs attention. For a friendly, intelligent, playful dog the fit is usually good either way.

Health and vet care in Salur

Preventive care in Salur is largely a matter of anticipating the long monsoon. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the puppy; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Salur is hottest in April, averaging 40°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Doodle needs real protection from that: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are mild, with January nights around 15°C, so cold is not a concern.

The rainy season runs from June to October, and August is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Doodle puppy, the easiest months to arrive are November to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
