Is the Greyhound Puppy right for Visakhapatnam (Rural)?

Visakhapatnam (Rural) is humid coastal — the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention — and the Greyhound Puppy is a large-sized, gentle, quiet, fast breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size needs its hard exercise moved to the cooler hours. Dry the coat and ears thoroughly after baths or rain to prevent fungal and skin issues.

Health and vet care in Visakhapatnam (Rural)

Preventive care in Visakhapatnam (Rural) is largely a matter of anticipating the long monsoon. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. Summer here peaks in May at about 34°C. That is manageable for a Greyhound, but watch it closely because a large body sheds heat slowly: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 21°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.

The rainy season runs from June to October, and September is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Greyhound puppy, the easiest months to arrive are November to May: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
