Grooming and coat care in Vuyyuru

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Vuyyuru being warm and humid, the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Dry the coat and ears thoroughly after baths or rain to prevent fungal and skin issues.

Feeding a large dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a large frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, keep water available and watch intake through the long monsoon.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Living with a Greyhound Puppy in Vuyyuru

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a Greyhound Puppy room to move and settle in comfortably. Owners in the southern region tend to find this dog a gentle, quiet, fast companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Space and the outdoors with a Greyhound Puppy

Homes around Vuyyuru usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A breed this size needs that outdoor time to be dependable, not occasional.

Vuyyuru is hottest in May, averaging 40°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from March to May. A Greyhound needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are mild, with December nights around 17°C, so cold is not a concern.

The rainy season runs from July to October, and October is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Greyhound puppy, the easiest months to arrive are November to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
