Space and the outdoors with a Pointer Puppy

Homes around Chirang usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A breed this size needs that outdoor time to be dependable, not occasional.

Health and vet care in Chirang

Preventive care in Chirang is largely a matter of anticipating the extended rainy season. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the puppy; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.

Feeding a large dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a large build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In high-rainfall tropical conditions water matters as much as food — rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Living with a Pointer Puppy in Chirang

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a Pointer Puppy room to move and settle in comfortably. Owners in the North-East tend to find this dog a loyal, loving, confident companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Is the Pointer Puppy right for Chirang?

Start with the weather, not the breed standard. Here rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, and a large-sized dog feels that more than an owner expects. The Pointer Puppy adapts well to Chirang on a sensible routine — shorter outings, timed away from the midday heat. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Summer here peaks in June at about 32°C. That is manageable for a Pointer, but watch it closely because a large body sheds heat slowly: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 10°C. A Pointer has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from April to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.

For a new Pointer puppy, the easiest months to arrive are February, March, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
