Feeding a large dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a large frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because summers are long and intense, so heat management is the single biggest priority, keep water available and watch intake through the dry summer months.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Health and vet care in Mundra

Preventive care in Mundra is largely a matter of anticipating the dry summer months. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the puppy; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. Watch for signs of overheating — heavy panting, drooling or lethargy — during peak afternoons.

Living with a Greyhound Puppy in Mundra

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a Greyhound Puppy room to move and settle in comfortably. Owners in western India tend to find this dog a gentle, quiet, fast companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Exercise and routine through the dry summer months in Mundra

Summers are long and intense, so heat management is the single biggest priority, so split the activity across two cooler outings rather than one long session. Mundra is hottest in May, averaging 38°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Greyhound needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 12°C.

The rainy season runs from July to August, and August is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Greyhound puppy, the easiest months to arrive are September to March: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
