Living with a Greyhound Puppy in Rajkot

Most homes here are apartments and gated flats, so a large-sized breed that adapts to indoor living is a practical choice. In a city, the routine has to be deliberate — fixed walk times, a defined resting spot.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Grooming and coat care in Rajkot

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With daytime temperatures climb high for much of the year, which shapes daily routines, a Greyhound Puppy's coat and skin want checking more often through the dry summer months. On a larger coat, matting and trapped moisture are what to catch early. Keep unlimited fresh water available and add a cooling mat or shaded resting spot.

Is the Greyhound Puppy right for Rajkot?

Rajkot is hot, dry — daytime temperatures climb high for much of the year, which shapes daily routines — and the Greyhound Puppy is a large-sized, gentle, quiet, fast breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size needs its hard exercise moved to the cooler hours. Keep unlimited fresh water available and add a cooling mat or shaded resting spot.

Health and vet care in Rajkot

Preventive care in Rajkot is largely a matter of anticipating the dry summer months. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the puppy; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. Walk early in the morning or after sunset when the ground is cool, never on hot pavement.

Rajkot is hottest in May, averaging 39°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Greyhound needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 11°C.

The rainy season runs from July to August, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Greyhound puppy, the easiest months to arrive are October to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
