Exercise and routine through the dry summer months in Gurugram

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. Several brief outings suit this size better than one long one. A light summer trim (for double-coated breeds, never shave to the skin) helps comfort.

Apartment living with a Doodle Puppy

Flats are the norm in Gurugram, so indoor enrichment carries real weight — puzzle feeders, chew toys, and a resting spot away from through-traffic. A medium-sized breed manages this well when the outdoor time is genuinely regular.

Is the Doodle Puppy right for Gurugram?

Start with the weather, not the breed standard. Here daytime temperatures climb high for much of the year, which shapes daily routines, and a medium-sized dog feels that more than an owner expects. The Doodle Puppy adapts well to Gurugram on a sensible routine — steady hydration and shade rather than reduced activity. A light summer trim (for double-coated breeds, never shave to the skin) helps comfort.

Feeding a medium dog here

Gurugram is hottest in May, averaging 43°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to June. A Doodle needs real protection from that: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 6°C.

The rainy season runs from July to August, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Doodle puppy, the easiest months to arrive are February, March, September, October, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
