Feeding a medium dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a medium build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In hot semi-desert conditions water matters as much as food — daytime temperatures climb high for much of the year, which shapes daily routines, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Space and the outdoors with a Doodle Puppy

Space is rarely the constraint here; the routine is what needs attention. For a friendly, intelligent, playful dog the fit is usually good either way.

Exercise and routine through the dry summer months in Karnal

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Karnal, daytime temperatures climb high for much of the year, which shapes daily routines, which makes timing the variable that matters. Several brief outings suit this size better than one long one. A light summer trim (for double-coated breeds, never shave to the skin) helps comfort.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Health and vet care in Karnal

Preventive care in Karnal is largely a matter of anticipating the dry summer months. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the puppy; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. A light summer trim (for double-coated breeds, never shave to the skin) helps comfort.

Karnal is hottest in May, averaging 42°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to June. A Doodle needs real protection from that: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 5°C.

The rainy season runs from July to August, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Doodle puppy, the easiest months to arrive are February, March, September, October, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
