Living with a Pointer Puppy in Narnaund

Larger plots and open surroundings make this a comfortable setting for an active Pointer Puppy. With more room to work with, the routine can stay informal, though it should still be regular.

Space and the outdoors with a Pointer Puppy

Space is rarely the constraint here; the routine is what needs attention. For a loyal, loving, confident dog the fit is usually good either way.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Feeding a large dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a large build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In hot, dry conditions water matters as much as food — summers are long and intense, so heat management is the single biggest priority, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Summers are long and intense, so heat management is the single biggest priority, so split the activity across two cooler outings rather than one long session. Narnaund is hottest in May, averaging 42°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to June. A Pointer needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 6°C. A Pointer has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

There is no long rainy season; what rain there is falls mostly in July.

For a new Pointer puppy, the easiest months to arrive are March, September, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
