Feeding a large dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a large build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In moderate Deccan conditions water matters as much as food — the balanced weather is one of the easier Indian climates for pet ownership, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Larger plots and open surroundings make this a comfortable setting for an active Greyhound Puppy. Owners throughout peninsular India tend to find this dog a gentle, quiet, fast companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Grooming and coat care in Tumakuru

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Tumakuru being moderate Deccan, the balanced weather is one of the easier Indian climates for pet ownership, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Provide shade and water during the short hot spell before the monsoon.

Health and vet care in Tumakuru

Preventive care in Tumakuru is largely a matter of anticipating the brief pre-monsoon heat. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Summer here peaks in April at about 36°C. That is manageable for a Greyhound, but watch it closely because a large body sheds heat slowly: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are mild, with January nights around 14°C, so cold is not a concern.

There is no long rainy season; what rain there is falls mostly in September.

For a new Greyhound puppy, the easiest months to arrive are January, February, May, June, July, August, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
