Health and vet care in Ottappalam

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the long monsoon rather than during it. Stay current on tick and flea prevention, which thrive in warm, damp conditions.

Is the Doodle Puppy right for Ottappalam?

Start with the weather, not the breed standard. Here the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, and a medium-sized dog feels that more than an owner expects. The Doodle Puppy adapts well to Ottappalam on a sensible routine — steady hydration and shade rather than reduced activity. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Feeding a medium dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a medium build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In coastal tropical conditions water matters as much as food — the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Summer here peaks in March at about 34°C. That is manageable for a Doodle: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters stay warm, with even January nights around 18°C, so there is no cold season to plan for.

The rainy season runs from May to October, and June is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Doodle puppy, the easiest months to arrive are December to April: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
