Is the Kanni Puppy right for Tikamgarh?

The Kanni Puppy does well in Tikamgarh, with one caveat worth knowing up front: the climate swings from hot summers to cool winters, so care changes with the season. For a loyal, shy, alert, large-sized breed that mostly changes when things happen rather than what happens. Provide shade and constant water in summer; a warm bed and blanket in winter.

Space and the outdoors with a Kanni Puppy

Homes around Tikamgarh usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A breed this size needs that outdoor time to be dependable, not occasional.

Exercise and routine through the peak summer and winter swings in Tikamgarh

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Tikamgarh, the climate swings from hot summers to cool winters, so care changes with the season, which makes timing the variable that matters. Two shorter outings work better here for a breed this size. Keep deworming and vaccination on schedule — seasonal changes can stress the immune system.

Feeding a large dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a large frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because the climate swings from hot summers to cool winters, so care changes with the season, keep water available and watch intake through the peak summer and winter swings.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Tikamgarh is hottest in May, averaging 43°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to June. A Kanni needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 8°C. A Kanni has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from July to August, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Kanni puppy, the easiest months to arrive are March, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
