Summers here are mild, peaking at about 25°C in June, so heat is rarely the problem for a Pointer that it is on the plains.

Winter nights fall to about 2°C in January. A Pointer feels that: bedding raised off the floor, a sweater or warm cover at night, and a room kept out of the draught.

The rainy season runs from May to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.

For a new Pointer puppy, the easiest months to arrive are October: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
