Living with a Shih Tzu in Chetheba

Larger plots and open surroundings make this a comfortable setting for an active Shih Tzu. Owners in the North-East tend to find this dog a playful, affectionate, gentle companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Is the Shih Tzu right for Chetheba?

Chetheba is lush, wet tropical — the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline — and the Shih Tzu is a small-sized, playful, affectionate, gentle breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size copes well, provided shade and water are always within reach. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Space and the outdoors with a Shih Tzu

Homes around Chetheba usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A small-sized breed manages this well when the outdoor time is genuinely regular.

Feeding a small dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a small frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline, keep water available and watch intake through the extended rainy season.

Grooming and coat care in Chetheba

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline, a Shih Tzu's coat and skin want checking more often through the extended rainy season. On a smaller coat, irritation shows up well before matting does. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.
