Space and the outdoors with a Kanni Puppy

Homes around Gandia usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A breed this size needs that outdoor time to be dependable, not occasional.

Grooming and coat care in Gandia

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, a Kanni Puppy's coat and skin want checking more often through the long monsoon. On a larger coat, matting and trapped moisture are what to catch early. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

Is the Kanni Puppy right for Gandia?

The Kanni Puppy does well in Gandia, with one caveat worth knowing up front: the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention. For a loyal, shy, alert, large-sized breed that mostly changes when things happen rather than what happens. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Health and vet care in Gandia

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the long monsoon rather than during it. Dry the coat and ears thoroughly after baths or rain to prevent fungal and skin issues.

Gandia is hottest in April, averaging 40°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Kanni needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 12°C. A Kanni has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Kanni puppy, the easiest months to arrive are February, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
