Feeding a small dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a small build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In hot, dry conditions water matters as much as food — the dry heat means hydration and shade matter more than almost anything else, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Space and the outdoors with a German Spitz Puppy

Homes around Ajmer usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A small-sized breed manages this well when the outdoor time is genuinely regular.

Health and vet care in Ajmer

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given the dry heat means hydration and shade matter more than almost anything else, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the dry summer months rather than during it. A light summer trim (for double-coated breeds, never shave to the skin) helps comfort.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Ajmer is hottest in May, averaging 41°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from May to June. A German Spitz needs real protection from that: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 6°C. A light sweater helps a small German Spitz on the coldest nights.

There is no long rainy season; what rain there is falls mostly in August.

For a new German Spitz puppy, the easiest months to arrive are March, September, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
