Is the Doodle Puppy right for Mothey?

Start with the weather, not the breed standard. Here the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds, and a medium-sized dog feels that more than an owner expects. The Doodle Puppy adapts well to Mothey on a sensible routine — steady hydration and shade rather than reduced activity. Keep vaccinations, deworming and annual vet checks on schedule year-round.

Health and vet care in Mothey

Preventive care in Mothey is largely a matter of anticipating the brief pre-monsoon heat. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the puppy; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. Keep vaccinations, deworming and annual vet checks on schedule year-round.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Mothey is hottest in May, averaging 41°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from March to May. A Doodle needs real protection from that: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are mild, with December nights around 16°C, so cold is not a concern.

The rainy season runs from July to September, and August is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Doodle puppy, the easiest months to arrive are November to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
