Health and vet care in Rajapeta

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the brief pre-monsoon heat rather than during it. Provide shade and water during the short hot spell before the monsoon.

Exercise and routine through the brief pre-monsoon heat in Rajapeta

The brief pre-monsoon heat is the stretch that needs planning. The plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds, so split the activity across two cooler outings rather than one long session. Consistency does more for a Greyhound Puppy than intensity ever will. Provide shade and water during the short hot spell before the monsoon.

Space and the outdoors with a Greyhound Puppy

Homes around Rajapeta usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A breed this size needs that outdoor time to be dependable, not occasional.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a Greyhound Puppy room to move and settle in comfortably. Owners across South India tend to find this dog a gentle, quiet, fast companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Rajapeta is hottest in May, averaging 42°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from March to May. A Greyhound needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are mild, with December nights around 15°C, so cold is not a concern.

The rainy season runs from June to September, and August is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Greyhound puppy, the easiest months to arrive are October to January: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
