Health and vet care in Bhatwari

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given crisp hill weather is comfortable for most dogs but harsh for short-coated ones in winter, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the cold winter season rather than during it. Keep up daily exercise — the cool weather is ideal for longer, more active walks.

The city sits at about 1,632 m above sea level, so it runs cooler than the plains around it.

Summers here are mild, peaking at about 29°C in July, so heat is rarely the problem for a Doodle that it is on the plains.

Winter nights drop to about 1°C in January. A Doodle copes well with cold, but a puppy still needs a warm, draught-free bed for its first winter.

The rainy season runs from July to August, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Doodle puppy, the easiest months to arrive are April, May, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
