Exercise and routine through the cold winter season in Haldwani

The cold winter season is the stretch that needs planning. Crisp hill weather is comfortable for most dogs but harsh for short-coated ones in winter, so keep sessions short and frequent. Consistency does more for a Doodle Puppy than intensity ever will. Provide a warm, draught-free sleeping spot and a coat for short-haired breeds in winter.

Feeding a medium dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a medium frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because crisp hill weather is comfortable for most dogs but harsh for short-coated ones in winter, keep water available and watch intake through the cold winter season.

Is the Doodle Puppy right for Haldwani?

Haldwani is cool hill — crisp hill weather is comfortable for most dogs but harsh for short-coated ones in winter — and the Doodle Puppy is a medium-sized, friendly, intelligent, playful breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size copes well, provided shade and water are always within reach. Keep up daily exercise — the cool weather is ideal for longer, more active walks.

Grooming and coat care in Haldwani

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With crisp hill weather is comfortable for most dogs but harsh for short-coated ones in winter, a Doodle Puppy's coat and skin want checking more often through the cold winter season. On a smaller coat, irritation shows up well before matting does. Keep up daily exercise — the cool weather is ideal for longer, more active walks.

Haldwani is hottest in May, averaging 40°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from May to June. A Doodle needs real protection from that: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 7°C.

The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Doodle puppy, the easiest months to arrive are October to March: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
