Grooming and coat care in Pauri

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With winters get genuinely cold, so warmth and joint care take priority, a Doodle Puppy's coat and skin want checking more often through the cold winter season. On a smaller coat, irritation shows up well before matting does. Older pets may need joint support as cold can stiffen movement.

Feeding a medium dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a medium frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because winters get genuinely cold, so warmth and joint care take priority, keep water available and watch intake through the cold winter season.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Is the Doodle Puppy right for Pauri?

Start with the weather, not the breed standard. Here winters get genuinely cold, so warmth and joint care take priority, and a medium-sized dog feels that more than an owner expects. The Doodle Puppy adapts well to Pauri on a sensible routine — steady hydration and shade rather than reduced activity. Older pets may need joint support as cold can stiffen movement.

Health and vet care in Pauri

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given winters get genuinely cold, so warmth and joint care take priority, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the cold winter season rather than during it. Provide a warm, draught-free sleeping spot and a coat for short-haired breeds in winter.

Winter nights drop to about 3°C in January. A Doodle copes well with cold, but a puppy still needs a warm, draught-free bed for its first winter.

The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Doodle puppy, the easiest months to arrive are March, April, May, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
