The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Feeding a large dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a large frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because crisp hill weather is comfortable for most dogs but harsh for short-coated ones in winter, keep water available and watch intake through the cold winter season.

Exercise and routine through the cold winter season in Vikas Nagar

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Vikas Nagar, crisp hill weather is comfortable for most dogs but harsh for short-coated ones in winter, which makes timing the variable that matters. Two shorter outings work better here for a breed this size. Provide a warm, draught-free sleeping spot and a coat for short-haired breeds in winter.

Living with a Pointer Puppy in Vikas Nagar

Larger plots and open surroundings make this a comfortable setting for an active Pointer Puppy. Owners in the northern region tend to find this dog a loyal, loving, confident companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Space and the outdoors with a Pointer Puppy

Homes around Vikas Nagar usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A breed this size needs that outdoor time to be dependable, not occasional.

Vikas Nagar is hottest in May, averaging 41°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from May to June. A Pointer needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 8°C. A Pointer has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.

For a new Pointer puppy, the easiest months to arrive are March, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
