Exercise and routine through the brief pre-monsoon heat in Bilgi

The brief pre-monsoon heat is the stretch that needs planning. Comfortable temperatures for most of the year make routine care straightforward, so keep sessions short and frequent. Consistency does more for a Dusky Lorikeet than intensity ever will. Maintain a regular grooming routine suited to the breed's coat.

Grooming and coat care in Bilgi

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With comfortable temperatures for most of the year make routine care straightforward, a Dusky Lorikeet's coat and skin want checking more often through the brief pre-monsoon heat. On a smaller coat, irritation shows up well before matting does. Provide shade and water during the short hot spell before the monsoon.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the bird approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Space and the outdoors with a Dusky Lorikeet

Homes around Bilgi usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A small-sized breed manages this well when the outdoor time is genuinely regular.

Feeding a small bird here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a small frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because comfortable temperatures for most of the year make routine care straightforward, keep water available and watch intake through the brief pre-monsoon heat.

There is no long rainy season; what rain there is falls mostly in September.

For a new Dusky Lorikeet bird, the easiest months to arrive are June to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
