Health and vet care in Mumbai

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the long monsoon rather than during it. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Feeding a medium bird here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a medium frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, keep water available and watch intake through the long monsoon.

Apartment living with a Budgies

Flats are the norm in Mumbai, so indoor enrichment carries real weight — puzzle feeders, chew toys, and a resting spot away from through-traffic. A medium-sized breed manages this well when the outdoor time is genuinely regular.

Living with a Budgies in Mumbai

With apartment living common across the city, Budgies owners do well with structured indoor routines and regular outdoor walks. Owners across the western region tend to find this bird a family friendly, good with kids companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Is the Budgies right for Mumbai?

Mumbai is coastal tropical — moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips — and the Budgies is a medium-sized, family friendly, good with kids breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size copes well, provided shade and water are always within reach. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Mumbai is hottest in April, averaging 39°C in the afternoon. A Budgies needs real protection from that: a cage well away from windows and direct sun, a shallow bath dish, and a room that stays under about 32°C.

Winters are mild, with January nights around 16°C, so cold is not a concern.

The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.

For a new Budgies bird, the easiest months to arrive are October to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
