Health and vet care in Narnoor

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the brief pre-monsoon heat rather than during it. Maintain a regular grooming routine suited to the breed's coat.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the bird approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Is the Budgies right for Narnoor?

Start with the weather, not the breed standard. Here the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds, and a medium-sized bird feels that more than an owner expects. The Budgies adapts well to Narnoor on a sensible routine — steady hydration and shade rather than reduced activity. Provide shade and water during the short hot spell before the monsoon.

Exercise and routine through the brief pre-monsoon heat in Narnoor

The brief pre-monsoon heat is the stretch that needs planning. The plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds, so keep sessions short and frequent. Consistency does more for a Budgies than intensity ever will. Maintain a regular grooming routine suited to the breed's coat.

Narnoor is hottest in May, averaging 43°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from March to May. A Budgies needs real protection from that: a cage well away from windows and direct sun, a shallow bath dish, and a room that stays under about 32°C.

Winters are mild, with December nights around 13°C, so cold is not a concern.

The rainy season runs from June to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Keep the cage out of damp corners and change the paper daily.

For a new Budgies bird, the easiest months to arrive are October to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
