Feeding a small cat here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a small build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In monsoon-heavy conditions water matters as much as food — rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Grooming and coat care in Doom Dooma

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Doom Dooma being monsoon-heavy, rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Preventive care in Doom Dooma is largely a matter of anticipating the extended rainy season. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the kitten; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. Towel-dry after every walk in the rains and check between the toes for irritation.

Summer here peaks in August at about 34°C. That is manageable for a Siamese: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 10°C. A light sweater helps a small Siamese on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from April to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.

For a new Siamese kitten, the easiest months to arrive are February, March, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
