Is Nearby Pets India Genuine? Reviews, Registrations and Complaints

Last updated: 06 November 2026

The short answer: Nearby Pets India is operated by a registered Indian company, KRP Tech Solutions OPC Private Limited (CIN U62099PB2023OPC059690), and has served pet buyers since 2023. You don't have to take our word for it. Every registration below can be checked on a government website, our Google Business Profile carries independent reviews, and if something goes wrong you can escalate to the National Consumer Helpline. This page also lists the complaints we hear most often and what we've changed because of them.

Where to read reviews

  • Independent: our Google Business Profile. We don't control or edit these reviews.
  • On our site: buyers can leave a rating and comment on the pet page of the breed they bought, and families share photos on the Wall of Pet Families. These are hosted by us, so read them alongside the independent ones.

If you've bought from us, an honest review on Google, positive or negative, helps the next family decide. We never ask anyone to remove a genuine review, and a negative review is never treated as harassment. Our anti-harassment policy covers threats and coercion, not complaints.

The complaints we hear most, and what we changed

No pet business gets everything right. These are the concerns buyers raise most often, and the changes they led to.

"The journey was too long for a young puppy"

Buyers far from our Punjab base, in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and the North East, told us long journeys were stressful for young animals. We now source pets from farms in the buyer's own region, through 12 facilitation centres, at the same price across India. See where your pet comes from.

"I want to see my puppy before it's sent"

After booking, our team does a live video call when your pet is collected from the farm, so you see the exact animal before it travels. On Cash on Delivery orders the call is recorded and attached to the order, and the same pet must be delivered. See the delivery and handover checklist.

"I'm worried about paying an advance online"

Since 27 October 2026, verified 100% Cash on Delivery is available in our listed serviceable cities for orders of ₹5,000 to ₹65,000. Elsewhere you can book with 25% and pay the balance at the door after checking the pet. See the Cash on Delivery policy.

"There were charges I didn't expect"

Each listing now shows the full price, including shipping and GST, before checkout, and any card fee is shown up front. Strike-through "was" prices reflect the lowest price of the previous 30 days.

"My delivery is late"

Delays can happen through weather, route closures or a farm-side issue. You can cancel for a full refund any time before your pet is collected from the farm, and if your pet hasn't been delivered within 7 days of the order, the cancel option reappears with a full refund. See section 3.5 of the refund policy.

"What if my puppy falls ill after delivery?"

Every pet has a written 7-day health guarantee covering parvovirus, rabies and severe pre-existing genetic conditions, confirmed by a registered vet. A pet with visible wounds or bald patches can be refused at the door. See your puppy's first 7 days.

Three questions buyers ask before trusting any online pet seller

Buying a pet without seeing it first is a real risk anywhere in India. These are the three worries we hear most, and exactly how we handle each one.

"How do I know the pet is the breed you say it is?"

  • Purity guarantee for life: every pet comes with a lifetime genetic purity guarantee. If a vet verifies cross-breeding within 7 days of delivery, you can return the pet under section 4.1 of our refund policy.
  • Papers: every pet gets a purebred certificate and a Form IV sale receipt at handover. KCI registration (dogs) or FCI registration (cats) is available on request at the listed price.
  • Free microchip for identity: every puppy and kitten can be microchipped at no extra cost, including Company Purebred pets, not only KCI ones. The chip number links your pet to its certificate, so it can always be identified.
  • Meet the parents: we share the parents' certification, the parents' vaccination records (and the mother's health record on request) and videos of the parents, and for KCI puppies the parents' KCI papers. During the live video call at farm pickup you can see your puppy together with its mother.
  • See the exact animal first: after booking we share photos or video of your own pet, and we do a live video call when it is collected from the farm, so the pet that arrives is the one you approved.
  • Check before you pay the balance: you inspect the pet at your door and pay the balance only after that. A pet with visible wounds or bald patches can be refused at the door for a full refund or a replacement.

"I want a true pedigree dog with KCI papers"

  • KCI-registered puppies: choose the KCI option on any dog listing. Your puppy is registered with the Kennel Club of India, and the KCI registration names its sire and dam, so the lineage can be traced through KCI records.
  • Parents' KCI papers shared: for KCI puppies we share the parents' KCI papers and videos of the parents. You see your puppy with its mother on the live pickup call.
  • Company Purebred puppies have a known lineage too: they come from lines where the parents or grandparents are KCI-registered or imported. They are not of unknown origin. Ask us and we share the parents' certification.
  • Free microchip linked to the certificate, for KCI and Company Purebred pets alike.
  • Not a backyard cross: every pet, KCI or Company Purebred, carries our written lifetime purity guarantee. A vet-confirmed cross-breed can be returned within 7 days.
  • Clear complaint timelines: our grievance policy acknowledges complaints within 48 hours and resolves consumer grievances within one month, with escalation to a Nodal Grievance Officer and then the National Consumer Helpline (1915).

"Which Persian face type should I choose?"

An honest note: Punch Face (flat-faced) Persians can be more prone to breathing difficulty, snoring and tear staining, and need their eyes and face cleaned daily. Doll Face Persians have a longer nose and are usually easier to care for. Both are covered by the same health guarantee. If you are a first-time cat owner, we suggest Doll Face.

"Will a long journey harm my pet?"

  • Shorter journeys: we source from farms in your own region through 12 facilitation centres, so most pets travel a short distance. The price is the same anywhere in India. See where your pet comes from.
  • Travels with a handler, not alone: a trained handler travels with your pet the whole way, in an AC cab or by train, in an AWBI-compliant set-up with proper spacing, and looks after feeding, water and comfort on the way.
  • Fit to travel: a vet issues a fit-for-travel clearance before the journey. Puppies and kittens travel only at 8 weeks or older, with their first vaccination done.
  • If the journey is delayed: if your pet has not been delivered within 7 days of the order, you can cancel for a full refund (section 3.5 of the refund policy).

"If my pet falls ill, how does the health guarantee actually work?"

  1. Report it within 7 days of delivery to [email protected] or on our WhatsApp helpline, with your order number.
  2. Get it confirmed by a registered vet: a written certificate on the vet's letterhead, with test reports carrying the vet's seal, signature and registration number. In the sad case of a death, a post-mortem report from a registered veterinary officer is needed.
  3. What is covered: parvovirus or rabies (puppies and kittens); feline panleukopenia, FeLV, FIV, ringworm or FIP (kittens); verified fungal infections or blood in stools (exotic birds), and severe pre-existing conditions or cross-breeding confirmed by a vet. Minor tummy upsets from a change of food or home are not covered, and neither are weaned chicks once handed over.
  4. Genetic problems found later (up to 12 months): some inherited conditions show only at 6 to 12 months. In dogs this means hip or elbow dysplasia and progressive retinal atrophy (PRA). In cats it means polycystic kidney disease (PKD) and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). These are covered for 12 months from delivery when diagnosed by a registered vet, with X-ray, eye-examination, ultrasound or echocardiogram reports on the vet's letterhead. Verified late-onset claims are settled with a 50% refund of the pet's price, and you keep your pet.
  5. You choose how it is settled: once the vet documents are verified, you can pick one of three options:
    • Replacement: a healthy pet of the same breed.
    • Refund: your money back for the pet.
    • Vet costs: if you would rather keep the same pet, we pay its verified vet treatment costs.
If the first vaccination was not given as stated, we also pay ₹450 on verification. Refunds go back to your original payment method, and to your UPI ID for UPI payments.

The full terms are in section 4 of our refund policy. If a claim is not resolved, use the escalation steps below.

Who raised your pet?

We are not a broker that passes on animals from unknown sources. Every pet on Nearby Pets India comes from a partner farm that has passed our 10-step breeder verification process, and keeps passing it:

  • Registered breeders only: our affiliated dog and cat farms hold an active State Animal Welfare Board breeder registration (for dogs, the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Dog Breeding and Marketing) Rules, 2017 require it). Our exotic bird breeders are registered on PARIVESH, the Government of India's portal for exotic live species. Ask us and we will share the registration number of the farm your pet comes from.
  • Documents checked by hand: business registration, GST, State Animal Welfare Board registration, vet partnership proof, vaccination records of the breeding stock and KYC. There are no automatic approvals.
  • Background check: consumer-forum complaint history, references from past buyers and our internal blacklist of rejected breeders.
  • Physical farm inspection: a trained inspector visits in person, unannounced where possible. They check space per animal, hygiene, food and water, stress signs, enclosures and medical records of every breeding pair.
  • Recorded live video tour of the whole facility, kept on file.
  • Mothers are not over-bred: a mother is bred once a year at most, and puppies and kittens stay with her until at least 8 weeks of age.
  • Re-verified every 3 months: every affiliated farm goes through a full re-verification every 3 months (documents, a surprise video call or unannounced visit, and buyer feedback). Certification is withdrawn if standards drop.

For your own pet, we share the parents' certification and videos, and you see your puppy with its mother on the live call at pickup.

See a puppy in person

You do not have to buy blind. Buyers in these states can visit one of our centres by appointment and see puppies in person before deciding:

  • Bengaluru centre: for buyers in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
  • Ambala centre: for buyers in Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh.

To book a visit, WhatsApp or call us on +91 80696 45024. We will confirm the time and share the centre address. Buyers in other states can book online with the same protections: photos and video of your exact pet, the parents' videos, a live video call at pickup with the puppy and its mother, and an in-person check at your door before you pay the balance.

Buying from us vs buying locally in person

Buying from a good local breeder is a fine choice too. If you are comparing, here is how buying from Nearby Pets India actually works on each point:

What mattersHow it works with Nearby Pets India

Health checkYou check the pet in person at your door before paying the balance, and you can refuse a pet with visible wounds or bald patches. Seeing the parentsWe share the parents' certification and videos (and KCI papers for KCI puppies), and you see your puppy with its mother on the live video call at farm pickup. Buyers in the South and North can also visit our Bengaluru or Ambala centre.

Your pet's first two weeks at home

A journey and a new home are a big change for a young animal. Some infections, such as parvovirus, can take a few days to show. A calm first fortnight helps your pet settle and makes problems easier to spot early. This is general care advice. Your own vet's advice always comes first.

  • Vet check on arrival: book a visit with your local vet within the first 2 to 3 days, before your pet meets other animals. It gives you an independent health check and a baseline record.
  • Rest first: let your pet sleep and explore one quiet room for the first 2 to 3 days. Keep visitors and handling short.
  • Same food at first: keep the food your pet came with for the first week, then change slowly over 5 to 7 days. Always give fresh, clean water.
  • No public places yet: keep puppies and kittens away from parks, streets and unknown animals until your vet says their vaccinations are complete.
  • Follow the vaccine schedule: take the vaccination card to your vet within the first week and follow the booster dates they give you.
  • Watch for warning signs: vomiting, bloody or watery stools, refusing food for more than a day, or unusual tiredness. See a vet the same day, and tell us within 7 days of delivery so your health guarantee applies.
  • Keep the records: save your vet bills, reports and our handover documents. They make any claim quick and simple.

For more, read your puppy's first 7 days.

Your money is protected until you approve the pet

We do not use a third-party escrow, but your money is protected at every step:

  • Before pickup: cancel any time for a full refund of your advance. In Cash on Delivery cities, you pay nothing in advance.
  • Health papers before the journey: transport cannot start without a vet's certificate of fitness to travel. You receive it, with the vaccination card, before your pet leaves the farm, so you can check the documents before anything moves. The vaccination card carries the registered vet's stamp and the vaccine vial stickers.
  • On the pickup video call: you see your pet live at the farm, with its mother. If it looks unwell, weak, or is not the pet you approved, reject it on the call and choose a full refund or a replacement, whichever you prefer.
  • At your door: check the pet in person before you pay the balance. A pet with visible wounds or bald patches can be refused for a full refund or a replacement.
  • After delivery: the 7-day health guarantee and the 12-month genetic cover (hip, elbow, eye in dogs; PKD, HCM in cats) apply.

What you can check on the pickup video call

Before your pet leaves the farm, the live video call lets you check, in real time:

  1. The microchip: the free microchip is scanned live on camera, and you match the number to the certificate.
  2. A free rapid test: every puppy is rapid-tested for parvovirus and giardia, and every kitten for FeLV/FIV and feline panleukopenia, on video before dispatch, at no extra cost, so you see the result yourself.
  3. The vaccination card: with the registered vet's stamp and the vaccine vial stickers, plus the certificate of fitness to travel.
  4. The mother: your puppy is shown with its mother, and her health and vaccination records are shared on request.
  5. Your decision: if anything looks wrong, reject the pet on the call and choose a full refund or a replacement.

Is the 25% booking advance safe?

  • It is refundable in full until pickup. You can cancel from your order page any time before your pet is collected from the farm and get back the whole amount, with no charges.
  • Late orders are covered. If your pet has not been delivered within 7 days of the order, the cancel option comes back, again with a full refund.
  • If we cancel, you get 100% back. That applies whatever the reason, including a health, stock or transport issue on our side.
  • It goes through a regulated gateway. Online payments are processed by PCI-DSS compliant gateways (PayU and CCAvenue) against an order number and invoice, never to a personal account.
  • You can skip the advance entirely. In our listed Cash on Delivery cities you can pay the full amount at your door after a one-time verification.

Full terms are in section 3.5 of the refund policy. You can also see our recent deliveries, by city, on the live delivery stats page.

What we are, and what we are not

  • We are a paid pet retail platform working with partner breeders and farms. We don't own the parent dogs, and we're not a rescue or adoption service.
  • We add checks a single unknown seller usually can't: minimum age of 45 days, first vaccination, a vet Fit-for-Travel clearance, 25+ pre-dispatch tests including DNA breed verification (through our diagnostic partners Red Belly Veterinary Diagnostics, Pranidhi Veterinary Diagnostics and DNA Labs India), a pickup video call, written terms and the 7-day guarantee. See how we work.
  • We don't do video calls before booking. The live call happens at farm pickup.

If something goes wrong

  1. Tell us first: email [email protected] or call +91 80696 45024. Keep your order number, photos and chats.
  2. Escalate to the Grievance Officer: under our grievance policy, grievances are acknowledged within 48 hours and consumer grievances are resolved within one month.
  3. Go outside us: you can contact the National Consumer Helpline on 1915 or at consumerhelpline.gov.in, or file before a consumer commission through e-Daakhil. That is your right, and it never counts against you.

"Do I have to go to Punjab to raise a dispute?"

No. Our registered office is in Kharar (SAS Nagar, Punjab), but as a consumer you are not limited to courts there. Under section 34(2)(d) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, you can file a consumer complaint with the District Consumer Commission where you live or work, wherever you are in India. You can file online through e-Daakhil without travelling, and the National Consumer Helpline (1915) can help you before you file. Our policies say this clearly: you can raise a dispute from any location, before any competent Consumer Commission or court in India.

Protect yourself from people pretending to be us

  • Our only website is nearby-petstore.in. Book through it so you get an order number and invoice.
  • We never ask for OTPs on a call, and Cash on Delivery verification is free. See COD e-Sign safety.
  • If a page, ad or WhatsApp number uses our name and asks for money another way, check with us before paying.
