The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the kitten approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Health and vet care in Chhatrapur

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the long monsoon rather than during it. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Exercise and routine through the long monsoon in Chhatrapur

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Chhatrapur, moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, which makes timing the variable that matters. Several brief outings suit this size better than one long one. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Grooming and coat care in Chhatrapur

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Chhatrapur being coastal tropical, moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Stay current on tick and flea prevention, which thrive in warm, damp conditions.

Space and the outdoors with a Russian Blue Kitten

Homes around Chhatrapur usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A medium-sized breed manages this well when the outdoor time is genuinely regular.

Summer here peaks in April at about 36°C. That is manageable for a Russian Blue: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are mild, with January nights around 18°C, so cold is not a concern.

The rainy season runs from June to October, and July is usually the wettest month. Dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.

For a new Russian Blue kitten, the easiest months to arrive are November to March: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
