Bareilly is hottest in May, averaging 42°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to June. A Scottish Fold needs real protection from that: a cool room with the curtains drawn in the afternoon, a tiled floor to lie on, and fresh water in more than one place.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 7°C. A light sweater helps a small Scottish Fold on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from July to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.

For a new Scottish Fold kitten, the easiest months to arrive are March, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
