Feeding a small cat here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a small frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, keep water available and watch intake through the long monsoon.

Exercise and routine through the long monsoon in Gorubathan

The long monsoon is the stretch that needs planning. The sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, so keep sessions short and frequent. Consistency does more for a Siamese Kitten than intensity ever will. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

Health and vet care in Gorubathan

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the long monsoon rather than during it. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the kitten approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Grooming and coat care in Gorubathan

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With the sea-influenced humidity makes ventilation and dry bedding important, a Siamese Kitten's coat and skin want checking more often through the long monsoon. On a smaller coat, irritation shows up well before matting does. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

Summer here peaks in May at about 32°C. That is manageable for a Siamese: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 12°C. A light sweater helps a small Siamese on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from May to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Dry the coat right down to the skin after it gets wet, or it can develop skin infections.

For a new Siamese kitten, the easiest months to arrive are February, March, April, October, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
