The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Feeding a large dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a large frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, keep water available and watch intake through the long monsoon.

Health and vet care in Krishnagiri

Preventive care in Krishnagiri is largely a matter of anticipating the long monsoon. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the puppy; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. Dry the coat and ears thoroughly after baths or rain to prevent fungal and skin issues.

Exercise and routine through the long monsoon in Krishnagiri

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Krishnagiri, moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, which makes timing the variable that matters. Two shorter outings work better here for a breed this size. Dry the coat and ears thoroughly after baths or rain to prevent fungal and skin issues.

Krishnagiri is hottest in April, averaging 40°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from March to May. A Kanni needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are mild, with December nights around 15°C, so cold is not a concern.

Most of the year's rain falls in September. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Kanni puppy, the easiest months to arrive are January, February, June, July, August, October, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
