The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Health and vet care in Thallur

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the long monsoon rather than during it. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

Grooming and coat care in Thallur

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, a Pointer Puppy's coat and skin want checking more often through the long monsoon. On a larger coat, matting and trapped moisture are what to catch early. Brush regularly — humidity makes mats and tangles form faster in longer coats.

Feeding a large dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a large build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In warm and humid conditions water matters as much as food — moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

Exercise and routine through the long monsoon in Thallur

The long monsoon is the stretch that needs planning. Moisture in the air can encourage skin and ear issues if grooming slips, so split the activity across two cooler outings rather than one long session. Consistency does more for a Pointer Puppy than intensity ever will. Keep bedding dry and the resting area well-ventilated, especially during the monsoon.

Thallur is hottest in May, averaging 41°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from March to May. A Pointer needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are mild, with December nights around 17°C, so cold is not a concern.

The rainy season runs from August to September, and August is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.

For a new Pointer puppy, the easiest months to arrive are November to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
