Living with a Pointer Puppy in Sonai

Larger plots and open surroundings make this a comfortable setting for an active Pointer Puppy. Owners in the region's hills tend to find this dog a loyal, loving, confident companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Is the Pointer Puppy right for Sonai?

Sonai is monsoon-heavy — the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline — and the Pointer Puppy is a large-sized, loyal, loving, confident breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size needs its hard exercise moved to the cooler hours. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.

Grooming and coat care in Sonai

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With the green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline, a Pointer Puppy's coat and skin want checking more often through the extended rainy season. On a larger coat, matting and trapped moisture are what to catch early. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.

Exercise and routine through the extended rainy season in Sonai

The extended rainy season is the stretch that needs planning. The green, rainy climate is mild but demands dry shelter and grooming discipline, so split the activity across two cooler outings rather than one long session. Consistency does more for a Pointer Puppy than intensity ever will. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.

Space and the outdoors with a Pointer Puppy

Homes around Sonai usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A breed this size needs that outdoor time to be dependable, not occasional.

Summer here peaks in April at about 32°C. That is manageable for a Pointer, but watch it closely because a large body sheds heat slowly: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 9°C. A Pointer has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from April to September, and June is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.

For a new Pointer puppy, the easiest months to arrive are March and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
