The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Grooming and coat care in Anjar

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Anjar being hot, dry, the dry heat means hydration and shade matter more than almost anything else, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Walk early in the morning or after sunset when the ground is cool, never on hot pavement.

Space and the outdoors with a Pointer Puppy

Homes around Anjar usually come with their own ground, which takes the pressure off a formal exercise plan. A breed this size needs that outdoor time to be dependable, not occasional.

Health and vet care in Anjar

Preventive care in Anjar is largely a matter of anticipating the dry summer months. Parasite control and skin checks earn their keep here more than they would elsewhere. The vaccination record travels with the puppy; staying on schedule is the single best habit there is. A light summer trim (for double-coated breeds, never shave to the skin) helps comfort.

Feeding a large dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a large frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because the dry heat means hydration and shade matter more than almost anything else, keep water available and watch intake through the dry summer months.

Summer here peaks in May at about 38°C. That is manageable for a Pointer, but watch it closely because a large body sheds heat slowly: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 12°C. A Pointer has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from July to August, and August is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.

For a new Pointer puppy, the easiest months to arrive are February, March, September, October, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
