Is the Kanni Puppy right for Kalghatgi?

Kalghatgi is mild tropical plateau — the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds — and the Kanni Puppy is a large-sized, loyal, shy, alert breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size needs its hard exercise moved to the cooler hours. Take advantage of the mild weather with consistent daily walks and play.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Given the plateau climate is relatively moderate, which suits a wide range of breeds, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the brief pre-monsoon heat rather than during it. Keep vaccinations, deworming and annual vet checks on schedule year-round.
