Feeding a large dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a large frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because the climate swings from hot summers to cool winters, so care changes with the season, keep water available and watch intake through the peak summer and winter swings.

The first week

The first week is about routine, not excitement. Feed at consistent times, let the puppy approach people in its own time rather than being passed around, and keep the diet unchanged at first.

Space and the outdoors with a Pointer Puppy

Space is rarely the constraint here; the routine is what needs attention. For a loyal, loving, confident dog the fit is usually good either way.

Living with a Pointer Puppy in Dewas Nagar

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a Pointer Puppy room to move and settle in comfortably. With more room to work with, the routine can stay informal, though it should still be regular.

Exercise and routine through the peak summer and winter swings in Dewas Nagar

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Dewas Nagar, the climate swings from hot summers to cool winters, so care changes with the season, which makes timing the variable that matters. Two shorter outings work better here for a breed this size. Keep deworming and vaccination on schedule — seasonal changes can stress the immune system.

Dewas Nagar is hottest in May, averaging 42°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Pointer needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 9°C. A Pointer has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from July to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.

For a new Pointer puppy, the easiest months to arrive are February, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
