Health and vet care in Ujjain

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given extreme summer heat and a brisk winter both need planning across the year, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the peak summer and winter swings rather than during it. Watch for seasonal coat shedding as temperatures change and brush accordingly.

Is the Kanni Puppy right for Ujjain?

The Kanni Puppy does well in Ujjain, with one caveat worth knowing up front: extreme summer heat and a brisk winter both need planning across the year. For a loyal, shy, alert, large-sized breed that mostly changes when things happen rather than what happens. Watch for seasonal coat shedding as temperatures change and brush accordingly.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Ujjain is hottest in May, averaging 42°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Kanni needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 10°C. A Kanni has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from July to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Kanni puppy, the easiest months to arrive are February, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
