Exercise and routine through the extended rainy season in Moirang

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Moirang, rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, which makes timing the variable that matters. Two shorter outings work better here for a breed this size. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.

Grooming and coat care in Moirang

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, a Kanni Puppy's coat and skin want checking more often through the extended rainy season. On a larger coat, matting and trapped moisture are what to catch early. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Summers here are mild, peaking at about 30°C in April, so heat is rarely the problem for a Kanni that it is on the plains.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 8°C. A Kanni has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from May to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Kanni puppy, the easiest months to arrive are March, October and November: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
