Is the Pointer Puppy right for Phullen?

Phullen is lush, wet tropical — near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention — and the Pointer Puppy is a large-sized, loyal, loving, confident breed. Those two facts decide most of what daily life looks like here. A breed this size needs its hard exercise moved to the cooler hours. Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Health and vet care in Phullen

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Keep vaccination and deworming on schedule, and book the check before the extended rainy season rather than during it. Towel-dry after every walk in the rains and check between the toes for irritation.

Phullen being lush, wet tropical, near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Ensure good airflow indoors to keep the coat and bedding from staying damp.

The city sits at about 1,208 m above sea level, so it runs cooler than the plains around it.

Summers here are mild, peaking at about 27°C in April, so heat is rarely the problem for a Pointer that it is on the plains.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 6°C. A Pointer has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from May to September, and June is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk; dry inside the ears after baths and rain, since droopy ears trap moisture.

For a new Pointer puppy, the easiest months to arrive are March and October: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
