Exercise and routine through the extended rainy season in Dimapur Sadar

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Dimapur Sadar, rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, which makes timing the variable that matters. Two shorter outings work better here for a breed this size. Maintain strict tick, flea and worm control, which peak in the wet season.

Grooming and coat care in Dimapur Sadar

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, a Kanni Puppy's coat and skin want checking more often through the extended rainy season. On a larger coat, matting and trapped moisture are what to catch early. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Living with a Kanni Puppy in Dimapur Sadar

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a Kanni Puppy room to move and settle in comfortably. Owners across the North-Eastern states tend to find this dog a loyal, shy, alert companion, and the settling-in is usually easier than the first week suggests.

Feeding a large dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a large build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In high-rainfall tropical conditions water matters as much as food — rainfall is among the highest in the country, so wet-weather care is essential, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

The first week

Expect a quiet few days. Most puppies eat less and sleep more while they settle. Keep the food the same as before the move, introduce the household gradually rather than all at once, and hold off on visitors for a bit.

Summer here peaks in May at about 34°C. That is manageable for a Kanni, but watch it closely because a large body sheds heat slowly: keep activity to the cooler ends of the day and a shaded, ventilated spot indoors.

Winters are cool rather than cold, with January nights around 11°C. A Kanni has a short, thin coat, so a light sweater helps on the coldest nights.

The rainy season runs from May to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Kanni puppy, the easiest months to arrive are February, March, October, November and December: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
