Exercise and routine through the extended rainy season in Longkhim

Build the day around local conditions rather than a figure from a breed chart. In Longkhim, near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, which makes timing the variable that matters. Several brief outings suit this size better than one long one. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Local climate decides which problems actually turn up. Given near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, the recurring ones here are skin and coat trouble, parasites and hydration — not the whole textbook. Grooming and coat care in Longkhim

Let the weather set the schedule, not the calendar. With near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, a Cockapoo Puppy's coat and skin want checking more often through the extended rainy season. On a smaller coat, irritation shows up well before matting does. Keep a dry, raised resting area — prolonged damp leads to skin and paw problems.

Feeding a small dog here

Feed age-appropriate food matched to a small build, and change brands gradually rather than overnight. In lush, wet tropical conditions water matters as much as food — near-constant moisture means skin, paw and bedding hygiene need real attention, and appetite often dips before anything else shows.

The city sits at about 1,533 m above sea level, so it runs cooler than the plains around it.

Summers here are mild, peaking at about 26°C in June, so heat is rarely the problem for a Cockapoo that it is on the plains.

Winter nights fall to about 3°C in January. A Cockapoo feels that: bedding raised off the floor, a sweater or warm cover at night, and a room kept out of the draught.

The rainy season runs from May to September, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Cockapoo puppy, the easiest months to arrive are October: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
