Grooming and coat care in Cuttack

The aim is dry, clean skin — appearance comes second. Cuttack being coastal tropical, the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, so a regular brush prevents most of what would otherwise become a vet visit. Stay current on tick and flea prevention, which thrive in warm, damp conditions.

Space and the outdoors with a Greyhound Puppy

Space is rarely the constraint here; the routine is what needs attention. For a gentle, quiet, fast dog the fit is usually good either way.

Feeding a large dog here

Diet is simpler than most guides make it. Good food suited to a large frame, fixed mealtimes, and any change phased in over a week. Because the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, keep water available and watch intake through the long monsoon.

Living with a Greyhound Puppy in Cuttack

Homes here often have more space and independent plots, which gives a Greyhound Puppy room to move and settle in comfortably. With more room to work with, the routine can stay informal, though it should still be regular.

Is the Greyhound Puppy right for Cuttack?

Start with the weather, not the breed standard. Here the air stays humid through much of the year, so coat and skin care need attention, and a large-sized dog feels that more than an owner expects. The Greyhound Puppy adapts well to Cuttack on a sensible routine — shorter outings, timed away from the midday heat. Stay current on tick and flea prevention, which thrive in warm, damp conditions.

Cuttack is hottest in April, averaging 40°C in the afternoon, and stays above 38°C from April to May. A Greyhound needs real protection from that because a large body sheds heat slowly: walks before 8 am and after 7 pm, a cool tiled floor or a cooler in the afternoons, fresh water in more than one place, and never a parked car.

Winters are mild, with January nights around 13°C, so cold is not a concern.

The rainy season runs from June to October, and July is usually the wettest month. Check for ticks after every walk.

For a new Greyhound puppy, the easiest months to arrive are November to February: not too hot, not too wet, and warm enough at night.
